About this Event

Celebrate Women's History Month in Howard County!

The National Women's History Project has designated “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future” as the Women’s History Month theme for 2026, acknowledging that whether developing green technologies, advancing economic justice, strengthening education systems, or building civic power, women are designing blueprints for sustainable transformation. The theme affirms that shaping a sustainable future means fostering systems that support both people and the planet.

The (CFW) will celebrate Women's History Month at their annual gathering. The event will feature dinner, the 2026 Poster Contest awards presentation and a panel discussion with four dynamic leaders and a moderator to focus on Building a Sustainable Future: Women Leading the Change.

Panelists include: Angela Harris, Founder and CEO of Kokopelli Business Services, LLC., Lisa Kim, Senior Program Manager, Leadership Howard County, Jenny Trostel, Chief Executive Officer, Girls Scouts of Central Maryland, and Karen Wood, Disability Rights Advocate.

The awards presentation will showcase the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the CFW's Women’s History Month poster contest, representing students who attend Howard County public and private schools, or are home-schooled.

Join us for an inspiring day featuring dinner and live entertainment. The event is free and open to the public; registration is required.

Seats are limited, so register today! Please indicate any dietary restrictions on your registration. If you need a sign language interpreter or other accommodations to participate, call 410-313-6400 (voice/relay) or email [email protected] one week in advance.
