Celebrate National Reading Month where stories step off the page and into nature. Families and students will meet visiting authors, Gina Gallois and Jody Wheeler-Toppen, enjoy live read-alouds of Opossums to the Rescue and A Book to Read with a Worm, and explore how reading helps scientists observe and understand the natural world.Additional literacy adventures include a shared reading of If Bees Disappeared, paired with a pollinator discovery, and a hands-on camouflage challenge where participants investigate how animals blend into their habitats.
Throughout the trail, guests will read, observe, and investigate — discovering that strong readers become strong scientists.
