In WA, forests and woodlands are under immediate threat from mining, including the Northern Jarrah Forests, some of the most beautiful, diverse and vulnerable forests on Earth. These vital ecosystems are home to endangered species such as Baudin's Black Cockatoos.
While commercial native forest logging ended in WA at the start of 2024, clearing continues under mining approvals, putting the Jarrah forests at risk.
The WA Environmental Protection Authority is set to decide by the end of July on Alcoa’s proposed bauxite mining expansion.
An extraordinary 59,000 submissions have already been sent to the EPA, calling for a halt to expanded bauxite mining. This march is our chance to build that pressure and demand the right decision for WA’s forests!

In a climate and extinction crisis, protecting native forests should be non-negotiable. Yet governments keep licensing their destruction.
Over the past two years, we've rallied and marched together for forests, with almost 30,000 people joining us across the four nationwide events.
Let’s keep the momentum growing and make this our biggest, boldest show of people power yet.
