About this Event

March Break – Teens Wheel Camp - A four-day wheel immersion at Clay Space on Mon, Tue, Wed and Friday (Ages 13-17)

We’re excited to introduce our first-ever teens-only program, designed for teens who are curious about working on the pottery wheel and ready to spend real time developing their skills.

Over March Break, students will take part in a hands-on wheel immersion, spending three full days throwing on the wheel and one dedicated glazing day. The focus is on learning through doing, building confidence, experimenting with form, and understanding the full ceramic process from clay to finished work.

Projects may include cups, bowls, and small sculptural forms, with guided instruction on throwing, trimming, surface design, and glazing.

This camp is best suited for teens who enjoy creative, tactile learning and want to deepen their relationship with clay in a supportive studio environment.

  • There will be a 30 mins lunch break each day. Students are asked to bring their snacks/lunch.
  • Please note there will be no class on Thursday March 26th

By the end of the camp, students will:

- Gain confidence working independently on the pottery wheel

- Understand the full ceramic process: throwing, trimming, surface design, and glazing

- Learn how form, function, and design work together

- Develop patience, focus, and problem-solving through hands-on making

- Create multiple finished ceramic pieces to take home after firing

- Only some pieces will be allowed to be kept on the description of the teacher.
