Botanical Gelli Plate Printing WorkshopStep into a world where paint, plants, and playful experimentation collide. In this immersive monoprinting workshop, participants explore the expressive possibilities of Gelli plates using real leaves, petals, seed pods, and natural textures gathered from the everyday landscape. We’ll slow down and notice the quiet details of each specimen — the delicate veins of a leaf, the silhouette of a fern, the unexpected pattern of a dried bloom — and translate those organic shapes into layered, atmospheric prints.
Through guided demos and plenty of open studio play, makers learn how to pull bold first impressions, subtle ghost prints, and beautifully unpredictable layered compositions. We’ll experiment with color palettes, stencils, masks, and brayer techniques, discovering how each variable shifts the mood of a print.
This class welcomes beginners and seasoned artists alike, offering a relaxed, exploratory environment where “happy accidents” are part of the joy. Everyone leaves with a generous stack of prints perfect for framing, collage, journaling, card‑making, junk journaling or future mixed‑media projects — plus a renewed appreciation for the quiet beauty of botanical forms.
***All materials and class supplies provided. Participants will leave with their very own workshop journal/workbook.
