Feb 26 - 28, 2026, 9 to 4 PM daily, $550Learn how to paint the landscape on location on beautiful St. Simons Island, Georgia. This class, we will discuss the fundamentals of Plein Air painting as well as more advanced topics like color theory and strategies for working outdoors.
Day one of the workshop will begin with a 30-minute lecture and discussion on the core concepts of Plein Air painting. This will be followed by a 2.5 hour painting demonstration. Students are encouraged to ask questions throughout the lecture and demonstration. The class will then break for lunch.
Afterwards, students will begin work on their own paintings while Marc gives individualized instruction to each student. Class will end at 4pm, but students may continue to paint if they wish.
Days 2 and 3 will begin with a quick recap followed by a 3-hour demonstration. After a 1-hour lunch break, students will again spread out to tackle their own paintings. Marc will continue to make rounds giving one-on-one instruction. The class will end with a group critique and discussion.
