MARATHON HAMLET is a one-day, site-specific staging of Hamlet across three National Trust heritage sites: Pentridge Prison, the Old Magistrates’ Court and Como House.Five acts. Three venues. One long run.
The actor playing Hamlet runs between the venues during intervals, and by the end of the show... she's run a marathon.
As the kilometres build, so does the character’s descent into doubt, delay and madness.
Audiences can attend a single venue or follow the full journey. No running required!
Only Hamlet runs.
A day-long livestream will also be available for those wanting to follow the full journey remotely. If you’d like to support the project, donations to our cultural fund help us make the experience as seamless as possible. https://artists.australianculturalfund.org.au/s/project/a2EMn00000cPIFDMA4/marathon-hamlet
