About this Event
Mapping the Global Far Right: FREE Public Workshop
Join us for the workshop Mapping the Global Far Right: A Collaborative Reflection with Four Guest Speakers”, where we will explore how far-right actors shape political and public discourse and how civic actors respond through inclusive, bottom-up strategies. Accompanied by scholars and activists, we aim to foster a multidisciplinary dialogue exploring the different dynamics of far-right mobilization, the threats they impose on contemporary democracies, and possibilities for democratic resistance. We particularly focus on digital spaces, transnational networks, and institutional politics. The workshop consists of two interconnected panel discussions, followed by a interactive and creative summary together. This workshop is part of the seminar series “Mapping the Global Far Right.”
We aim to create a space which fosters learning through the sharing of ideas and the dissemination of scholarly knowledge. This will be achieved within an environment that is open and accepting to all persons regardless of their ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. The topics of discussion will highlight political groups and actors who promote hate and discrimination for personal and political gain. This can be triggering for some so we ask all participants in attendance to be mindful. We will not tolerate the use of hate, discrimination, or xenophobic language outside of the scope of its discussion in respectful scholarly research and dialogue.
