About this Event
Meet us on the open-air rooftop of the Doral Cultural Arts Center, where we’ll take in a beautiful panoramic view of the city and reflect on the places that are meaningful to us.
O, Miami’s Z. Yasmin Waheed will guide us in writing poetic responses to these reflections, which will later be uploaded to the project’s interactive digital map. Eventually, each map point will reveal a unique poem about the location, forming a growing, community-driven & collaborative archive of Miami’s cultural memory.
Centered on lived experience and celebrating Miamians’ own perspectives, Mapping Miami uses public art and technology to preserve the stories of a rapidly changing city.
