Scouts (ages 7-11) are invited to participate in a two-hour program that explores the science and math behind making maple syrup! The program will begin with an introduction on the wonder of trees followed by staff guided, outdoor, hands-on activities that will unravel the mystery of turning sap to syrup. Maple products from a local producer will be available in Jennings’ gift shop for optional purchases. This maple sugaring program will be offered in the morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and repeated in the afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Each participating scout will receive an embroidered patch.
Cub Scout den leaders and Girl Scout troop leaders must pre-register their scouts and all other participants for either the morning or afternoon session. Register online or by calling Jennings at 724-794-6011.
If registering online, be sure you are registering for either the AM or PM Session, registering as a group, and registering all leaders, adults, scouts and siblings who will be attending. Space is limited for this very popular program!
The program fee is $2.00 per person (scout leaders are free). Scout leaders will need to confirm and pre-pay for an accurate number of registered participants by March 3. Payment form will be emailed soon after registering. Registration is not complete until payment is received.
