About this Event
This next Major Archives Projects Learning Exchange (MAPLE) event will be at the Staffordshire History Centre in Stafford. Opening in November 2024 this hugely successful project has welcomed over 16,000 visitors in its first year. A redevelopment of an existing site comprising the 1960s Staffordshire Record Office and grade II* listed William Salt Library building.
The new Centre has embraced sustainability reusing and repurposing its buildings whilst adding new passive strongrooms and bright welcoming exhibition space. The day will give an overview of the project and partnership, how to deliver a service without a building, managing a collection in situ whilst construction is ongoing, and using a co-production model to deliver your activity plan without a venue! The day will end with a tour of the new facilities.
