About this Event
West Leeds Activity Centre offers outdoor adventure holiday clubs for young people aged 8 to 16 during school holidays. Set in acres of woodland and green space, our programmes give children the chance to explore, move and enjoy the benefits of being outdoors in a safe, welcoming environment. Each day is packed with engaging activities designed to build confidence, encourage teamwork and support physical and emotional wellbeing.
Example programme
- 9.30 Arrival – Young people sign in and meet their group and staff
- 9.45 Team Games – Basketball, netball or themed challenges
- 10.45 Assault Course – Outdoor physical challenge circuit
- 12.00pm Lunch – Eat together in outdoor or indoor spaces
- 13.00 Shelter and Fire Building plus Campfire Cooking – Bushcraft skills and supervised fire lighting
- 14.15 Pedal Karts – Fun laps on an enclosed course
- 15.30 Pick Up – Sign out and end-of-day handover
The cost is £45 per child.
Weather appropriate clothing should be worn by everyone attending WLAC. Jeans should not be worn for any of the activities, jogging bottoms or leggings are ideal. Trainer or boots should be worn.
A spare set of clothes and a towel should be brought as well as a bag that wet / dirty clothes & towel can go into.
A packed lunch & refreshments should be brought.
