Mantra is a mysterious world and an ancient sound practice dating back over 3000 years.I welcome you this spring semester to move into and explore this world together.
Chanting mantras is a doorway into deeply meditative states. It affects our physiology by the use of breath and voice, activating the vagus nerve and thereby regulating and relaxing the whole system. Then we are bathing in delicious energy vibrations.
Chanting mantras is a different form of meditation. We do not have to be so still and passive - it is a more active way to reach meditative states.
Chanting mantras can ease depression and anxiety and bring us into connection.
In each class we will learn and repeat mantras together.
Some of the mantras we will focus on are:
Gayatri Mantra (for inner wisdom and mental clarity)
Mahamrtjunjaya Mantra (for healing, health and longevity)
Durga Dwatrinsha Naammala (for overcoming life's challenges)
Upanishadic Shanti Mantra (for inner peace and peace on earth)
Vedic Shanti Mantra (for protection and nourishment)
And more.
No previous experience needed - a little curiosity goes a long way.
Dont worry, we will take things slow and learn together.
