MANTID is a multi-disciplinary performance project blending sound installation, music composition, and contemporary dance.
About this Event

Created by emerging artists Jaime Belden, Max Costigan, and Salvador Wallin, MANTID spins a tale of resistance, burnout, and actualization, danced through a vast sonic space through dissonance, terror, rampage, and quietude.

Under Belden’s direction, MANTID comes to life through Costigan’s rich aural storytelling, Wallin’s genre-bending composition, and Belden’s innovative choreography utilizing contemporary dance and queer Argentine tango. Two years after their first collaboration as students at Reed College, MANTID invites audiences to be led on a journey: reflecting on their own agency, and embracing their value in the world.

This project is funded in part by the Regional Arts & Culture Council and the Office of Arts & Culture.
