CELEBRATING SUFFOLK WOMEN
Sarah Doig presents a potpourri of tales about some of Suffolk's famous and not so well-known women, all of whom achieved great things in their chosen fields including art, poetry and charity work. Sarah explores the fascinating lives of our county’s suffragettes, including Sophia Duleep Singh. She also dips into the life of Norah Lofts who drew inspiration from Suffolk’s rich history for her writing. Sarah also tells the story of the Elizabethan surgeon and herbalist Catherine Tollemache, the amazing ‘Human Arrow’, Pansy Chinery and more of our county’s heroines.
Sarah Doig is an author and speaker. As well as having written for a number of local magazines, Sarah has had several books published by The History Press and Amberley Publishing. These include “The A-Z of Curious Suffolk” and “The Little History of Suffolk”. She is also the biographer of Basil Brown, the archaeologist who discovered the Great Ship Burial at Sutton Hoo. Sarah is the current chair of the Friends of Suffolk Archives.
