About this Event
Mandatory Sexual Harassment and Abusive Conduct
Prevention Training for Supervisors
California law requires companies with five or more employees to provide their supervisors with at least two hours of interactive sex harassment, discrimination and abusive conduct (bullying) prevention training every two years. New employees in any position must be trained within six months of hire, and newly-promoted supervisors within six months of starting the supervisory position. There are unique training rules for agricultural and temporary staffing employers.
Attendees will discover the answers to the following questions, and will receive a training acknowledgement form to sign and return to their employers for their personnel file:
1. Who is doing all the harassment?
2. What’s the company’s liability when supervisors harass?
3. What is the impact of bullying as it relates to harassment?
4. What is legally actionable harassment v. what’s “inappropriate”?
5. What supervisors are supposed to do when they learn of harassment?
6. Are supervisors personally liable for poor handling of harassment claims?
