Together Against the Far Right (28th March 2026) is a display of unity in the face of a growing and increasingly confident far-right and fascist movement in the streets and ballot boxes in the UK (Together Alliance). University workers and educators from Manchester are sending a delegation by coach, join us!
On September 13th 2025, a demonstration organised by Stephen Yaxely-Lennon (AKA "Tommy Robinson"), with the support of far-right billionaire Elon Musk, brought over 100,000 onto the streets of London in a hate filled and violent mobilisation - the largest fascist-led mobilisation in British history. While the anti-racist movement was able to bring out 20,000 to oppose the far-right, there is a clear need to mobilise the anti-racist majority in society.
The Together Alliance seeks to show the unity of the anti-racist majority in society. The march has been endorsed by cultural figures such as Irish rap trio Kneecap, Lenny Henry, Paloma Faith and many others; NGO's/charities such as Amnesty International and Fairtrade; and campaign groups such as Stand Up To Racism, Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Stop the War Coalition, and Climate Justice Coalition.
Crucially, Together Alliance is also backed by all the major Trade Unions representing University workers and Educators: University and Colleges Union (UCU), Unison, Unite, National Education Union (NEU), etc. Educators play a vital role in the fightback against the far-right and their misinformation, sexist, LGBT+ phobic and racist/white supremacist ideas.
Join the delegation of University workers and educators travelling from Manchester (Oxford Road) to London on the 28th of March 2026 by coach organised and funded by University of Manchester UCU, Manchester Metropolitan University UCU, NW Regional UCU, and Manchester Unison AQA.
