This January will see the return of the Ice Bowl to Longford Park. On 19 January, we will host an event looking to raise money for our chosen charity, Coffee4 Craig: Coffee4Craig is a Manchester-based charity founded in 2013 by Risha and Hendrix Lancaster in response to the tragic death of Risha's brother. Since then, we have been dedicated to providing essential support to people experiencing street homelessness in Manchester, UK. www.coffee4craig.org
What is an Ice Bowl?
Since 1996, disc golfers haves hosted Ice Bowl tournaments to raise funds and food for their communities, bringing together players of all skill levels who share a passion for the sport and a commitment to giving back.
These events take place during astronomical winter, with the winter solstice marking the start of Ice Bowl season each year. Facing the extreme elements fosters a unique atmosphere where camaraderie and charity combine.
Ice Bowls have become a celebration of community spirit, focusing on supporting food security initiatives. As each year passes, the collective impact of these tournaments grows, showcasing the generosity and determination of disc golfers everywhere to make a difference.

Format and Rounds
On Saturday 19 January, we will play 2 rounds with the first round being on the red course for all divisions. Scoring for this round will determine doubles pairing for the second round as it will be doubles on the blue course. Double pairs will be made by having the lowest score matched with the highest. We will score this event on UDisc. If there are an odd number of players, one of the top 10 in singles will be randomly selected to play Cali, (one extra shot per hole)
Since this is a fundraising event for our chosen charity, this event will be trophy only, not PDGA sanctioned or rated, and a good event for new players. There will be trophies for all divisions in singles and 1 for the doubles winners. The entry fee for this tournament will be £20. Donations are welcome as is attaining sponsorship from friends, family, and co-workers prior to the event.
