About this Event
Hand and wrist complaints are among the most frequent presentations in primary care, often proving diagnostic challenges for even experienced clinicians. This session, led by Miss Caroline Cheadle, provides a specialist’s deep dive into the "essential" list of hand pathologies.
Miss Cheadle will move beyond basic anatomy to focus on clinical pearls for diagnosis, the latest evidence-based non-surgical interventions, and clear markers for when surgical referral is the optimal path for the patient.
Key Topics Covered
- Nerve & Tendon Issues: Modern management of Carpal Tunnel, Trigger Finger, and various forms of Tendonitis.
- The Arthritic Hand: A guide to managing OA in the fingers, thumb, and wrist.
- Complex & Chronic Conditions: Navigating the treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture.
- Trauma Pitfalls: Identifying and managing post-traumatic degeneration and the "hidden" scaphoid non-union.
