About this Event
This session is a stand alone CPD session or can be paired with the Managing Automatic Anger session on 14th June 2024.
Do you see anger presented in your service from clients? Anger is a healthy, human emotion but it is also associated with many mental health conditions and may be a defence mechanism for other concerns. Anger can be a barrier to accessing support, potentially worsening someone’s wellbeing, relationships, employment and life overall. Few mental health services provide anger specific interventions; this session focuses on understanding anger, how to help clients recognise it and manage the emotion using Psychoeducation and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Learning Outcomes
- Learn how anger difficulties may present at Clinical Assessment; what to look for.
- Develop your understanding of “Anger rumination”, overthinking or dwelling on negative thoughts and resultant anger emotion.
- Improve knowledge of habit cycle and impact on wellbeing as well as feelings such “being stuck”.
- Strengthen your techniques to guide clients in managing the emotion and stopping angry overthinking.
This session is aimed at anyone working in health and social care with adults
