Spend a spring weekend in the lovely Malvern Hills and see six curated French films all directed by women. The Festival is introduced by Fiona Handyside, who will be giving an hour long talk at the start and will also give a short introduction to each film throughout the weekend.
Fiona Handyside is Associate Professor in Film Studies in the Department of Communication, Drama and Film at the University of Exeter. She has lived in France and has written extensively about French cinema, including the filmmakers Agnès Varda, Céline Sciamma, Diane Kurys and Mia Hansen-Løve.
She also runs a course about donkeys in the cinema in conjunction with The Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary and has a special soft spot for films that feature donkeys.
