Proud to be collaborating with TLQ Malmö this year as we start up sessions after a break. Read more about sessions and TLQ below.

NEXT SESSION: TUE 24/3
Every other Tuesday we host ballroom sessions at the Ungdomens hus in Malmö, from 19.00-21.00. These sessions will pay homage the history and important figures of ballroom while giving a space to learn and practice the basics of different ballroom categories. Each session will have a shorter class portion and a longer open training portion where you can practice everything you have learned. No previous experience is necessary! Come as you are!
Sessions are FREE! No sign up needed. We encourage our community to become a member at TLQ Malmö.

WHAT IS BALLROOM?
The underground ballroom scene has it roots as far back as to the 1920 in Harlem, New York and was created by Black and Latin Trans women and Drags, as a new safe space due to racism they faced within the white pageant scene. It evolved into many new categories and became not only a space for trans women of colour to enjoy the safeties of community but of all queer people of colour to create and ex- press what was not allowed at the time to express in the public. Houses are families within ballroom that not only works like families, but also competes together at ballroom functions. The houses has different names and is a fundamental part of ballroom culture.
