Hear the story of a great love story set in Maldon, that would surely rival any Errol Flynn film!
Hear the unusual traditions of dance, culture and food that make Maldon quite unique.
You then have the option of staying to enjoy a delicious meal of fish and chips or scampi at an old 15th Century inn on the quayside, with super views over the water (morning tour only).
Highlights of the tour
Hear the story of the Fat Man of Maldon, in his lifetime, he was considered to be the ‘fattest man in England!’
Visit the Tourist Information Centre for a 15 minute stop where you can purchase beautiful gifts and postcards.
Hear of Maldon’s famous sea salt and the stories of the Salt Merchant Love Rats!
The Walk
This is easy street walking, but we will be walking for up to 1 hour.
This tour is wheel chair friendly but not suitable for those with walking difficulties
Well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead please at all times during the tour.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes

Saturday Morning Tour
10am to 10.30am Optional coffee and toilet stop at the Blue Boar Hotel and Inn, a beautiful 14th century stage coach inn.
10.30am Meet Jane your Tour Guide outside the Blue Boar Hotel, where you will be warmly welcomed onto the tour.
10.30 to 11.30am Tour of Maldon
11.30am Tour ends outside St Mary’s The Virgin Church.
12 noon Optional meal to enjoy delicious fish and chips at a 14th century Inn.
Contact Jane, who will reserve a table for you. Jane will escort guests to the restaurant in person.
Saturday Evening Tour
8pm -8.30 pm Optional coffee and toilet stop for guests at the Blue Boar Hotel, a 14th century stage coach inn.

8.30 -9.30 pm Tour of Maldon.

No meal reservations made for this tour. Guests can enjoy refreshments in Maldon of their own choosing.
