Shoegaze/emo trio **Malamiko** stretch the definition of their genres, shaking you awake with feedback and noise. Cynicisim and hope fuel thier debut "all pleasant dreams" in equal measure. A better future is possible even if it hurts to get there.**Unstable Shapes** write noisy songs about disappointment and romance, post-punk paeans to self-discovery and self-deception. The band combines angular guitars over a foundation of muscular bass riffs and kinetic drumming, punctuated with thunderous shouts and screeching feedback. In early 2024, they released their debut singles “Glass Ladder” and “The Local Sphinx”, followed by “Feral Joy” that Fall — and they continue to play shows and write material that is as furious as it is intimate. Vocalist Andrew Cahak, guitarists Mitch Gustafson and Ryan Jaroscak, bassist Kevin Hurley (also of The Great Went), and drummer James Taylor (also of Laamar) finished work on their first full length in July 2024 and are currently finalizing plans for its release.
