About this Event
Making Stockton a Home: Refugee Futures Research and Strategy Launch
Join us as we launch the research report from our peer-led research collaboration with Durham University. Led by five Stockton-based refugees, the ‘Making Stockton a Home’ project asked 78 settled refugees to define integration, community, belonging and welcome, building the largest and most diverse dataset on Stockton’s refugee residents.
Focusing on the potential impact of this research, we will also explore how we can centre lived experience and peer-led research in discussions, services and decision-making within the borough and beyond.
We will also launch Refugee Futures’ 2026-2029 Strategy, which has been shaped by the research, and in collaboration with people with lived experience, and in consultation with organisations across Stockton. The strategy sets out our aim of building a Stockton where people feel a sense of belonging and can flourish in our community, and how we hope to work in partnership to achieve this impact.
The event will close with sharing food, networking and celebrating our community!
