About this Event
Join us for our next monthly Palestine Circle Ministry gathering where we will hear directly from Eman Rashid, Palestinian American organizer and educator based in Brooklyn about two grassroots initiatives bringing Palestine solidarity home to our blocks, our neighbors, and our local relationships.
Eman brings her experience connecting communities across differences in order to lift up the lived experience of Palestinians in their homeland under Israeli occupation and build solidarity in the struggle for freedom in Palestine. She is the driving force behind both The Big Yellow Sign for Palestine and Our Sister Village campaigns.
The Big Yellow Sign for Palestine
Bright yellow, waterproof signs hung from windows, fire escapes, and fences across Brooklyn — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Over 2,400 signs have already gone up. The goal is not one sign per building, but many signs per block — so that neighbors recognize a shared community commitment. We'll talk about how to approach your neighbors, identify allies, and coordinate your block.
Our Sister Village
The Our Sister Village campaign is a direct, ongoing relationship between our community and Palestinian villages such as Almughayer in the West Bank — currently under near-daily attack by Israeli soldiers and settlers. When attacks happen, we respond together: reaching out to neighbors, calling politicians, and contacting media. This initiative helps us put a human face on Palestinian suffering and act with urgency when it matters most. For more information: https://www.savethevillages.com
