Registration required: https://brewsterladieslibrary.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/making-simple-handmade-books/In this fun workshop you’ll make a simple accordion book and a side-bound journal book to acquaint you with the basic steps of bookmaking. Once you learn to make these two book forms, you’ll find yourself making books for friends, using magazines, paper bags, and discarded file folders! In the first hour we’ll make an accordion book which lends itself to many variations by adding cut-outs, tags, windows, and more. In the second hour we’ll make a basic journal book with a side-binding (on the outside of the book) using hard covers and buttonhole thread. These are no-frills books that you can continue to embellish when you take them home.
Supplies provided. For ages 16 and up.
