Three-session workshop with tools for revision, from theme and intention to structure, pacing, and polished dialogue, voice, and word choice. Best for those with a draft; useful for all revisers. The first session, The Big Picture, focuses on helping writers identify why they wrote their work and what they want readers to take away from it. This clarified intention becomes the guiding principle for the entire revision process. Activities include developing concise “elevator pitches” for the work and identifying the ideal reader or target audience.
Instructor - Suzanne Morgan Williams is the author of the middle grade novel Bull Rider (Margaret K. McElderry Books), the YA novel Sierra Blue, and eleven nonfiction books for children, with more titles forthcoming.
