A free Zoom workshop for parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in West Sussex.
About this Event

In this workshop, delivered by Lizzie Batten from Amaze, you will find out how to apply for Disability Living Allowance (DLA), how the process works, the various rates, understanding how decisions are made, tips for making a strong claim and appealing a decision. This workshop will also be useful to parents/carers who are facing completing a renewal as it will provide you with up to date information. This will be an informative session including an opportunity to ask questions about your own child and their needs.

Please note this workshop is funded by Reaching Families for parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in West Sussex only. It is not suitable for professionals.

Registration - In order that the trainer can have a better understanding of your young person with additional needs and tailor the workshop to your needs, we are requesting details during booking about their age and diagnosis (if appropriate) or description of needs.

This information will be stored securely and will only be shared with Lizzie Batten who is the trainer. You can read our full Privacy Notice on the Reaching Families website - https://reachingfamilies.org.uk/images/contact/RF_Privacy_Notice_2023.pdf

If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact us.

After booking - Once you have booked a place you will receive an email confirmation from Eventbrite. Prior to the workshop you will receive a Zoom link to access the session.

You will need to download Zoom in advance but you don’t need to set up an account if you don’t wish to. Zoom can be used on PC’s/Laptops and mobile devices such as iPad, phones and tablets.

If you have any questions, please get in touch and we will happily talk you through setting this up if required. E-mail: [email protected].

If workshop is full - places can become available and we are very proactive at ensuring all places are taken on our workshops. In order to join the waitlist, please open Eventbrite via an internet browser, rather than using the Eventbrite app, in order to book yourself onto the waitlist.
