An exhibition by PhD student Jinyu Han featuring tactile models and audio descriptions to help interpret art collections
About this Event

Exhibitions of visual art normally rely on the power of sight but how might we experience them using other senses? This exhibition showcases the research of Jinyu ‘Eevee’ Han, a PhD student at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, who has been collaborating with Dundee Sight Support & Social Hub and North East Sensory Services to create tactile models and audio descriptions for blind and partially sighted visitors. You will be able to experience a range of artworks using these alternative methods of interpretation, and the exhibition also includes some sensory artworks that were created to be touched.

The exhibition is on from 10 April – 26 June and is open Monday-Friday 9.30am – 7pm. Last entry to the building is usually at 5pm – after that the doors are usually locked but you can remain in the building until 7pm and press the accessible exit button to leave. If you wish to arrive after 5pm, please contact us beforehand on museum[at]dundee.ac.uk or 01382 384310 and we will try to arrange this.

You do not need to bring your Eventbrite ticket with you when you visit.

A more detailed accessibility guide to the exhibition is also available. A link will be added here soon.
