About this Event
Manchester is a great city, but not all residents have the same opportunities to be healthy and well, or to reach their full potential.
This results in health inequalities – the preventable gaps between people with the worst health and people with the best health.
We have made a great start on tackling that gap through our delivery of Making Manchester Fairer, the city’s five-year action plan that – with a view to the long-term - has a focus on the conditions in which we are born, grow, live, work and age: how much money we have; the quality of our education, jobs and homes; our families, friends and communities around us; our surroundings and environment.
Building on the achievements from our first full year of delivery, we want to use this event as an opportunity to connect and reflect with our partners from across the system and think about our priorities for the next two years. To do this we need all voices to help shape what we do, how we do it and be involved in making it happen.
This event is a chance for everyone to come together to:
- Reflect on what we have done so far (what has been successful, what have we learnt and what do we need to change)
- Explore where we are now and what this means for the future (creating our future plan together)
- Draw on the collective energy of everyone to ensure we sustain the energy and momentum for this work
- Be inspired by what is possible and spending some dedicated time outside of our busy day jobs exploring the ‘art of the possible’
The event is being hosted by Manchester City Council and being managed and facilitated by Collaborate Out Loud CIC.
