About this Event
After the sold out first event, Making It In LA returns! And this time... it's personal.
Making It In LA strives to unite filmmakers creating in LA to share stories and make more movies. Following February's first event, four new movies are in production after cold script readings, introductions before and after screenings, and the simple fact that showing up puts you face to face with fellow filmmakers who are still making it in LA.
On Thursday April 30th, MIILA curates a showcase of filmmakers' debut films with “My First Movie.” Each short film will be followed by a raw, honest conversation with the respective cast and/or crew to demystify the process of filmmaking, empower filmmakers, and showcase the real hero's journey behind a first movie.
No gate-keeping. All the nitty gritty. What does it actually take? How much does a short movie cost? What would you do differently? Triumphs, mistakes, and everything in between.
