Join Ranger Daniel at Taylor-Mesilla Historic Site in Mesilla, New Mexico, on Sat., April 4, noon - 1:30 p.m. to learn about the history and craft of making furniture in early New Mexico.Daniel will lead an interactive workshop that discusses the tools and materials artisans used to create chairs, tables, cupboards, and other items for the home. Participants will have the opportunity to examine pieces of historic furniture from the site’s vast collection, including handcrafted items made in Mesilla, and receive instructions for creating their own model of a chair based on a Spanish Colonial design from the 18th-century.
