Join Luisa Cortado on series of workshops, supporting wellbeing and reducing social isolation in local communities around the library.
The Making a Rose workshop is based around the teaching of the ancient art of Cartapesta Leccese, as well as the special technique of making roses that Luisa has developed over many years. Cartapesta means paper mache and Leccese means from Lecce, Southern Italy, where the process originated in the 18th Century.
This fun workshop- simply tearing, gluing and shaping roses- gives those who attend a chance to relax and focus, encouraging self-expression, tactile exploration and a sense of pride.

The first session kicks off on Monday 10 October at 5.30pm to 7.30pm , in celebration of World Mental Health Day.
The second session will be on Friday 10 February 2023 at 5.30pm to 7.30pm, in time for Valentine's Day.
Note: these workshops have limited spacing, so booking is a must. Please only book tickets, if you'll be attending on the day.
