By queers FOR EVERYONE – Are We Left Behind is hosting a Pay What You Can makeup workshop and social at The Compound in Hastings. This is a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and express yourself in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Whether you're passionate about makeup, a beginner looking to learn some simple techniques, or simply want to get to know PMBC, this workshop is for you!
PMBC, Artistic Director of Are We Left Behind, is a renowned London drag artist and event producer originally from Eastbourne. They made history as the first and only AFAB (assigned female at birth) performer to win Lip-Sync 1000, Europe’s largest drag competition. Known for their fluid approach to identity, PMBC embraces the transformative power of makeup, rejecting traditional labels in favor of creative expression.
During the session, you'll recreate one of PMBC's iconic faces, with plenty of room to make it your own. PMBC doesn’t follow traditional makeup rules—instead, they see your face as a canvas for self-expression, encouraging you to experiment and explore your unique style.
If you're aged 16-25 and enjoy the workshop, there’s an exciting opportunity to take it further in the new year! Are We Left Behind will be running a series of workshops where you'll learn new skills tailored to what you want to explore in the arts. In these sessions, you’ll also work towards an event that you'll be a part of in your hometown, showcasing everything you’ve learned.
