Maker’s Space is a creative playground for dancers to explore choreography, experiment with new ideas, and grow as artists. Each 2-class session features a rotating guest artist who leads warm-up, improvisation, and choreographic tools to spark your creativity. Open to intermediate/advanced dancers (18+) and local professionals. Drop in for one class or join the full session—come play, create, and connect in community!

April Maker's Space with Eli Motley (April 18, 25)
SESSION DESCRIPTION: This series will focus on how can we create continuity within our work. Continuity meaning how do organize our ideas onto a timeline and how to expand upon a particular movement or idea. Achieving these goals through various prompts, collaborations, and group feedback. At the start of each session, we will be lead by a brief guided improvisation as a way to warm up the body and to connect your movement to your mind.
ARTIST BIO:
Elijah, or Eli, Motley (Greensboro, NC) is a choreographer, dancer, teacher, and an MFA Degree of Dance and Choreography recipient from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Eli holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Theatre and a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Eli situates his choreography within the frame of Hip-Hop Theater and Immersive theater. His choreography has been presented in Virginia, North Carolina, New York City, Chicago, Wisconsin, Norfolk, and Texas. In addition to performing, he frequently teaches as a guest artist in public schools, various dance studios, collegiate, and high school dance festivals. He is currently a Visiting Professor in the School of Dance at Elon University in North Carolina and a member of Rouge Artistry Dance Crew. You can check out more of Eli at
