Join us for a day out at the historic Sunny Bank Mills to soak up some textile art, chat with fellow makers, and perhaps find a few hidden gems for your stash.
We’ll start by exploring the brand new exhibition, 'For the Love of Texties'. The exhibition explores the loving connections humans have with textiles. The show will feature wedding dresses from around the world, funeral shrouds, pocket alters, emotion filled quilts and stunning examples of skill all done in the name of love. The exhibition will also include archival pieces from some incredible textile collections.
After we’ve taken in the art, we’ll head over to the Mill's cafe to grab a coffee, a bite to eat, and discuss our favorite pieces from the show.
No trip to Sunny Bank Mills is complete without a visit to Scrap, a fantastic shop dedicated to discarded materials and creative reuse. It’s a perfect place to find unique materials for your next project.
