About this Event
Material Beauty II will delve deeper into the rich vocabulary of design, technique, materials, the use of turquoise and hardstones, and the hand of the maker and the machine in the jewelry arts. It will visually articulate how jewelers seek to balance preserving their cultures with embracing modern and industrial materials and aesthetics and preserving their own design identities with economic needs, the demands of outsiders, and commerce.
Join us on Friday, November 22 for "Makers, Collectors, and Museums," a talk between John Stuart Gordon, Curator of American Decorative Arts at Yale University Art Gallery and Judy Geib, jewelry designer and goldsmith.
Each November, NYC Jewelry Week proudly presents ‘The Week,’ a 7-day celebration dedicated to the art of jewelry. This annual event invites a global audience to explore the world of jewelry through a dynamic mix of in-person and virtual experiences, spanning New York City and beyond.
