Make Your Own Terra Cotta Planter
Get your hands dirty—and your garden growing!
Join us for a laid-back, hands-on workshop where you'll design and build your own terra cotta planter from scratch. Whether you’ve got a green thumb or just love a good creative project, this class is the perfect way to bring a little clay (and a lot of charm) into your space.
You'll learn simple handbuilding techniques using rich, red terra cotta clay—ideal for indoor and outdoor planters. Choose your size, shape, and surface design—we’ll walk you through the rest.

Time: 2-4 PM
Where: Erie ClaySpace, 1505 State Street (3rd Floor, PACA Building)
Cost: $50 per person — includes all materials, tools, and firing
Accessing the Studio:
The PACA building doors are locked. When you arrive, please call (814) 520-5089 and your instructor will buzz you in.

If you need elevator access (we’re on the third floor), email [email protected] ahead of time, and we’ll assist. The elevator is old-fashioned and cannot be called with a button.

👕 What to Wear?
Comfy clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Tie back long hair and skip the jewelry.
🎨 Is this beginner-friendly?
Nope — this is an intermediate/advanced class. You should be comfortable centering, pulling walls, and trimming independently.
💔 What if something cracks or warps?
We handle work with care, but ceramics can be unpredictable. Flat forms especially like to keep us humble.
📦 When do I pick up my work?
Finished pieces are typically ready 2–4 weeks after the class ends. Pick-up details will be provided.
