MAKE YOUR OWN SHORT FILM: PRACTICAL WORKSHOP - Discover the wonder of short films in this fun and hands-on filmmaking workshop designed for budding young filmmakers!

Led by the creative team at WheelWorks Arts and celebrating On the Pulse 2026’s focus on Short Films, participants will create their own short film as part of a real film crew, learning the foundations of storytelling, editing, and how to bring their ideas to life in short, meaningful films.

Using iPads and easy-to-use filmmaking tools, kids will explore different camera shots, angles, and techniques, while working together to plan, shoot, and edit their own short film. From setting the scene to crafting a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end. This workshop offers a fantastic introduction to making short films and the world of filmmaking, perfect for curious minds who love movies and want to learn how they're made!

Completed films will be uploaded to Cinemagic’s YouTube channel, and might even get played before upcoming screenings – how exciting!
