Join Saf for a creative and eco-friendly Mushroom Jar Workshop!
In this hands-on session, Saf will guide you through crafting your own mushroom-themed jar using air-dry clay and recycled materials.

This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced crafters.



Essential Information

Event leads: Safia Badawi

Event length: 1 session, Wednesday 28 January, 10 am - 2.00 pm (approx)

Meet at: NHSN Council Room, Level 2, Great North Museum: Hancock

Event cost: £15

Most materials will be provided, but please bring:

  • A small glass jar (pesto or similar size works best)
  • Some thin cardboard (cereal box or amazon card works great)
  • A container or small box to carry your artwork home
  • A rolling pin or an empty glass bottle to use as a rolling pin (Saf will have a few spares but can’t bring many!)
  • Your lunch! :)

Photos may be taken as part of this event for social media purposes - if you would prefer to not be included please let a member of staff know at the start of the session.

Accessability:

This event is indoors in a wheelchair accessable venue. Kitchen (kettle and microwave) and toilet facilities available. Portable heaters are available but please note that the Field Studies Room can get cold in winter so please dress warm and cosy.



About the event lead:

Safia Badawi studies Ancient History at Newcastle University, although is a lifelong lover of biology and art. She enjoys blending both passions to create nature-inspired pieces full of character.
