About this Event

Commercialising Social Science Innovations for Impact

This event is your opportunity to learn how to turn your social science innovations into real-world impact via finding a financially sustainable venture model! Join us at the Business and Law Building, Northumbria University for 2 hours filled with insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and project case presentations from Northumbria University.

This event focuses on showcasing case examples of both 'monetised and non-monetised' routes of IP Commercialisation adopted by academics from non-STEM research background (e.g. Arts, Designs, Humanities, Business, Law, etc.) for their research projects.

Since Social Science innovations often make use of the applications of IT-enabled services and software/app tools to achieve successful commercial exploitation and reach the target audiences, academics/researchers/technicians from STEM background may attend this event to explore possible partnerships with non-STEM researchers.

This Northumbria University event is opened to both Internals and Externals. Many academics, researchers and professionals interested or involved in SHAPE Commercialisation attended the last event conducted on 11th Dec 2024.

Note: SHAPE refers to 'Social Sciences, Humanities and the Arts for People and the Economy (https://www.thebritishacademy.ac.uk/this-is-shape/)'.
