About this Event
Three-Class Mug Workshop
Discover the joy of pottery and create your own unique, handcrafted mugs—no experience needed! In this three-part workshop, you'll design two personalized mugs, perfect for keeping and gifting.
Class 1: Throwing the Basics
Guided by 25-year teaching veteran Wanda, you’ll learn the foundational skills of centering, pulling, and shaping clay on the wheel. By the end of the session, you’ll have created several mugs and selected your two favorites to keep. Wanda will trim your chosen pieces so they’re ready for decorating next week.
Class 2: Creative Decorating
Unleash your imagination! This week, you’ll attach handles and decorations to your mugs, transforming them into one-of-a-kind works of art. Choose from a variety of themes like space, flowers, or mushrooms using our extensive collection of sprig molds, or carve your own designs. Even the handles can reflect your creative flair with unique shapes and placements.
Class 3: Glazing Your Masterpieces
In the final class, you’ll bring your creations to life by glazing them. Select a single stunning glaze or experiment with multi-color combinations under Wanda’s expert guidance. Your finished mugs will be microwave- and dishwasher-safe, ready for everyday use or as heartfelt gifts.

Note: Come ready to get dirty -- Wear comfortable, washable clothes and bring an old towel!
We recommend removing rings , wrist watches and long necklaces or eyeglass chains before the classes to avoid loss or tangles. It's also helpful to tie back long hair and trim long nails before working on the pottery wheel.
