From cut to finish, you will make your own historically accurate costume cap for Revolutionary Reenactments and America 250 Events.Finished caps will be on display for you to try on before you start. One ruffle or two, pleated or not, it's up to you!
Your Hostess/Instructor: Harper of Seams Couture, an Emmy Award winning Professional Film and Theatre Costumer and Historic Costume Maker and Researcher who also participates in historic reenactment events. Member of the RI Daughters of the American Revolution.
*Attendees should have a basic ability to hand or machine sew, not for total beginners. We have extra scissors but if you have favorites please bring them. Studio venue includes a cutting table, professional iron, sewing machines, and a pinnable mannequin head to share. We also have needles & thread, pencils, rulers, pins, and several copies of Harper's cap patterns here for your use.
*General Ticket: Make 1 Cap Patterns and all Studio Supplies provided by us. *BYO Fabric. $40.
*Add On: Use our Fabrics and Supplies, choose from cotton and linen here in the studio $20. We have white cotton organza, cotton lawn, and lightweight linen to choose from, and 1/8" cotton twill drawstring tape.
Decorative lace and ribbon not provided because that's extra finishing work that we might not have time for. Caps were always either plain or fancy.
*To Reserve a space: We take Paypal, just message here and we'll get you registered.
Location: West Side of Providence with on street parking (please do not bring food, pets, or children). Space limited to 6 per workshop, first come first serve etc. More day of event will be messaged to Participants.
