Are you ready to skate with Jacksonville’s premier travel teams? The New Jax City Rollers (A-Team) and River City Rat Pack (B-Team) are holding OPEN TRYOUTS for competitive athletes who want to represent Jacksonville on the national and global roller derby stage.
Whether you’re a current league member, transferring from another team, or looking to elevate your skating career, this is your chance to join one of the most competitive and dynamic roller derby organizations in the world!

Who Are We?
New Jax City Rollers (A-Team)
As Jacksonville’s top competitive travel team, the New Jax City Rollers represent the pinnacle of roller derby excellence. Securing first place at 2024 SouthCentral Regionals, and multiple appearances at the WFTDA Championships, New Jax has earned a reputation as one of the strongest teams in the world. Being part of this team means skating with the best, competing at the highest level, and carrying on a legacy of success and determination.
River City Rat Pack (B-Team)
The River City Rat Pack is our B-level travel team, competing in the southern region and preparing skaters for the transition to elite competition. With a focus on growth, teamwork, and skill-building, this team is the perfect place for athletes looking to develop their competitive edge while representing Jacksonville with pride.

Expectations & Commitment
Practice:
• New Jax City Rollers and River City Rat Pack team members are required to attend at least one practice per week, held on Sunday nights, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Skate Station in Orange Park or Skate Station Mandarin.
League Committee Participation:
• All skaters will actively participate in a league committee. Options include:
• Training: Develop practice plans and drills.
• Social Media: Promote events and share our story.
• WFTDA: Assist with governance and rankings.
• Sponsorship: Build relationships with community partners.
• Events: Organize league functions and game-day operations.
Game Day Participation:
• Skaters are expected to assist with game-day production, including setup, teardown, and fan engagement.
Dues:
• Monthly dues are $50.00, which help cover practice space, travel expenses, and other league operations.
League-First Mentality:
• Every skater is expected to put the league and team first, ensuring collaboration and unity. This mindset means every decision and action contributes to the league’s growth and success as a whole.
Open Tryouts—Transfers Welcome!
These tryouts are open to everyone, whether you’re:
• A current member of Jacksonville Roller Derby
• A transfer skater from another league
• Looking to join a competitive travel team for the first time
Both A and B teams are looking for skaters with skill, drive, and a passion for competition.
