🌿 “Nature in a Bottle” – Make It, Take It Event 🌿Create Your Own Mini Terrarium Garden!
Participants must reside or work in Iredell County. Each participant will create 1 terrarium.
Bring nature indoors and spark curiosity through hands-on learning! Terrariums are a wonderful way to introduce children to living things while encouraging observation, responsibility, and environmental awareness.
Join us for our upcoming Make It, Take It event, where teachers and families will create their very own mini terrarium gardens to take home. Participants will layer rocks, soil, and plants to build a tiny ecosystem inside a clear recyclable container.
This engaging activity allows children and caregivers to explore how plants grow and learn what living things need to thrive. Terrariums provide a simple and meaningful way for children to observe nature up close and experience hands-on science learning at home or in the classroom.
Activities like this support high-quality early learning environments. According to the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS-3), Item 22: Nature/Science, programs scoring at higher levels provide opportunities for children to observe and interact with living things such as plants. Creating and caring for a terrarium encourages curiosity, discovery, and everyday science exploration.
Whether used in a classroom or at home, terrariums help create environments that inspire children to observe, ask questions, and care for the natural world.

⏰ Time: 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
📍 Location: ICPYC Statesville & ICPYC Mooresville
💲 Cost: $8 (+ taxes and fees) per terrarium kit
Each registered participant will receive a confirmation email with a link and password that can be used to complete payment through Eventbrite. Payment must be completed within 48 hours of receiving the email. If payment is not received within that timeframe, the registration will be canceled and removed from SignUp Genius.
