About this Event
Explore assemblage sculpture as you create your own treasure box to store your favorite tiny objects! Attendees will choose from a fun selection of containers, textures, and objects to create a functional sculpture full of creative inspiration and sensory exploration.
Shannon Johnson (they/them) is an art educator, administrator, and mixed media artist based in Portland, OR. Their process based work often explores the natural world through pattern, texture, and repetition influenced by their time spent gardening, knitting, and quilting.
Free Family Mornings is an ongoing series on select Saturdays from 11 a.m. - Noon. Bring the whole family for complimentary museum admission and hands-on, all-ages workshop led by a local artist.
Free Family Mornings events are held in our community room, and space is limited to 40. For that reason we require registration, but if space is still available you are welcome to register right up until the time of the event (we know how it is trying to plan ahead with the whole crew!)
All kids under 15 must be accompanied by an adult to ensure safe, creative fun for everyone. Art activities are aimed at around kindergarten level and up with adult support, but wee ones are welcome to tag along too. Feel free to reach out to [email protected] for any access questions or requests.
