About this Event
Community Corner is a service run by the NHS aiming to combat social isolation and help people to live well in their communities. Every Thursday at Violet Melchett we run activities to promote health and wellbeing.
Come along for a fun, hands-on activity for all ages where we’ll be making seed bombs to support local wildlife and promote biodiversity.
Join us on the 30th October from 2-4pm for a session led by our team making your own wildflower seed ball. Sowing wildflowers provides vital resources to support a wide range of insects that couldn't otherwise survive in urban or built-up areas. Throwing, breaking up or digging seed balls into areas that need a little brightening up is a lovely way to support the local ecosystem.
Materials and refreshments will be provided. This is a great opportunity to get out and about, meet people, have a chat about flowers and the environment! Getting involved in local environmental action is great for wellbeing, enhances your local area and sense of purpose.
Seed bombs are a simple, playful way to brighten up unloved spaces and encourage wildflowers to grow, providing vital food and shelter for insects, pollinators, and other wildlife that struggle to survive in built-up urban areas. By making and planting them, you’ll be taking a small but powerful step towards enhancing your community’s natural environment.
