Learn the basics of machine tool woodworking while making your very own heavy-duty cutting board in class. Students will learn the fundamentals of milling wood to size using the planer and table saw. Students will then glue together pieces. Students will clean up pre-glued pieces, then flatten, shape, and profile their cutting boards before final sanding in preparation for finish. All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases.
