Make a Matariki Mosaic Star

Make your own Matariki star shaped mosaic at Te Toi Uku meaning the ‘the art of clay’; a unique museum exploring the clay heritage of West Auckland. Experienced ceramic tutor Rowena Rooney of Blue Turtle Design will guide 8-12 year olds in creating their very own star-shaped mosaic star. This is a two day workshop; participants will design their mosaic star using Crown Lynn pottery fragments on day one, 10am -2pm and finalise and grout their mosaic star to take home on day two, 10am -12pm. In making their stars students will think about their own hopes and wishes for the coming year.
